Our news

2011 June 28

Sabrina went home on June 12. Yesterday Alexandra also went home. I really miss them... Seren and Gezde are leaving tomorrow, Tamara the day after tomorrow, and Alexander in a week. New volunteers will arrive in the beginning of September.

June 11th, we went to church. We were invited to Gabi’s wedding ceremony. Gabi, of course, was the most beautiful J It was very interesting for us to go to such a ceremony, because no one of the seven volunteers is Catholic. I really like in Catholic Church, to my mind it has many beautiful traditions.

We near the church after wedding

From 10 to 12 June there was a festival "Days of the Sea" in our city. Unfortunately, we could not go to concerts or a boat trip, but we were in funfair and rode the rides. It was very scary, but still great! And Saturday night there were fireworks. I have never seen before such a amazing fireworks!

This month, we traveled a lot. With Seren we went to Czech Republic through Berlin. We spend 4 hours in Berlin and then went to Prague by night-bus. We were walking the whole day, from morning till night. We met many interesting people there, they showed us the city. The Czech language is similar to Polish, but still I could not understand anything! And Czechs are like Poles, opened and helpful.

We in Prague with our friends

In the evening Seren went to Budapest and I stayed in Czech Republic and the next day went to Carlsbad. This is a small city two hours from Prague. A lot of people from all over the world are coming there for treatment; there are many sources of mineral waters. I was amazed by town; it is small, cozy and very nice!

Karlovy Vary

Tamara, Gezde and Alex firstly went to Krakow, then to Budapest, where they met Seren. In Budapest they spent two days and then traveled together to Vienna and from there to Bratislava. Alex told me a lot about the trip, it was unforgettable, and they are full of impressions. They especially liked Budapest.

And Alexandra went to the mountains, to Zakopane. It was very cold there, all of the time was raining and snowing, but anyway she was very pleased with the trip. In Zakopane there is really beautiful nature.

At the celebration of Corpus Christi I went to Wroclaw to visit EVS-volunteers from Russia, Julia and Denis. Wroclaw is a beautiful and quite big city. There are many fountains, bridges and beautiful architecture. We had a lot of walking and talking, and it was very nice to meet people from other organizations and learn about their work.
