Promotion of EVS

2011 June 02

During May and June we are making promotion of SWIP and EVS in different places. We have the exhibition with our photos and quotations, which was made with the great help of our ex-volunteers - Eduardo, Francesca, Mariana, Vesturs, Lisa, and Larisa!

In May 17 we had a meeting with Polites, a nongovernmental organization in Szczecin, which is as well as SWIP hosting and sending EVS volunteers. We have prepared various dishes from our countries for everyone to try them and brought traditional music. We got acquainted and talked with many different people from organizations and with ex-EVS volunteers and watched a movie about EVS in Poland. The evening was very sincere and interesting for me.

In May 24 we worked on plac Grunwaldski. We were handing out our leaflets and telling young people what is EVS and what opportunities they have to go to different countries. It was very interesting to communicate with young people, some of them were really very curious!

In May 27 in Jasne Blonia we were participate in an event called "Pod Platanami”. This is an annual meeting of non-governmental organizations. It was actually huge event! We had an occasion to meet the representatives of over 100 szczecin non-governmental organizations and also non-government organizations from Westpomeranian region and Germany who presented their activities on promotion stands, stages and on green areas. Once again we prepared dishes from our countries and many people wanted to try and were also interested in our photo-exhibition! We handed out our flyers and balloons, many people asked us questions about our countries. In addition we had the opportunity to visit other non-governmental organizations and vote for the one which we are most liked!

The same way we show our exhibition in schools, kindergartens and universities where we are telling young people about our experiences in our EVS! I think this is very helpful because not everyone who wants to travel to other countries knows that there is such a great possibility as EVS!
