2011 April 26
I’ve celebrated Easter with my friends in Gdynia. We got acquainted with them in on-arrival training in Warsaw and they are also EVS volunteers. I was very happy to meet with them again!
In Gdynia there are many futuristic places and monuments :) Many ships in the harbor and you can look inside of them during excursion. We walked along the beach and looked at the sea ...
On Sunday we went to Sopot and Gdansk.
In the morning we had an Easter breakfast. I met with volunteers from Georgia, Turkey and Germany. We congratulated each other on Easter, had leisurely conversations and enjoyed our international company: Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Turkey, Iceland, Germany and Italy around one table :)

It takes 20 minutes by train from Gdynia to Sopot. Sopot is very nice: a lot of interesting places and wonderful small streets, but so many people. My friends told me that people come from Gdynia and Gdansk are usually going to Sopot for the weekend, because it is the center of good parties. But over the Easter weekend neither shops nor partying are working! :) In spite of the fact that there are so many people Sopot very peaceful and cozy.
Another 20 minutes is the way from Sopot to Gdansk. Gdansk is magical as if from a fairy tale. Unfortunately we have not much time to learn it better, but the center has amazed me. Amazing architecture and the architect's imagination! :) In the main square there is a Neptune statue and it is the meeting place for inhabitants of Gdansk :)
The next morning, unfortunately, I have already gone home. I will definitely return to this beautiful places and hope to know them better! |
